Online Learning Is Growing on Campus - NYTimes.com

This online delivery is different - watching professor lectures live or on video via online streaming. We use a different mode of online learning.
Still would like your thoughts on the mechanism (online) and the outcomes (learning).

I'm happy to hear that online learning is growing. I feel that the students who attend schools that offer online classes are very lucky in that they are free to make their own schedules which will not interfere with their daily tasks. The article mentions that online learning is mostly for elderly students that have families which i can personally relate to. Having children and working full time, online classes have been a lifesaver for me.

I am not surprised that online learning is growing, but I am happy to see it. Technology has been changing rapidly, creating opportunities that make our lives easier, such as online learning. Online learning provides people more opportunities to become students due to its flexibility. If it were not for online classes, some people could attain a college degree. The part of this article that stood out most to me was this, “Quite honestly, the higher education industry in the United States has not been tremendously effective in the face-to-face mode if you look at national graduation rates,” he added. “At the very least we should be experimenting with other modes of delivery of education.” Hopefully this will help higher education become more effective.

I believe that online learning offers an advantage of accessibility and flexibility which allows students to maintain and juggle between full-time job and busy lifestyle, without sacrificing the quality of earning an education.
